As apple and AT&T have struggled with system crashes, overcharging and confusing shipments of the iPhone 4, rivals in the Android camp are gearing up for another widely anticipated product. MOTOROLA, Verizon wireless and Google are preparing to launch the MOTOROLA Droid X smartphone in New York on June 23. That's a day before apple's iPhone 4 goes on sale. Analysts say the large display and delayed delivery of smartphones and the iPhone 4 could lead consumers to buy the Droid X or other phones.
Verizon says on its website that the Droid X has a 4.3-inch display, 720p hd video and an HDMI port for playing hd video. These features will compete with the iPhone 4's hd video and 720p features. According to Engadget, the Droid X will feature Google's Android 2.1 operating system and a large FWVGA (854×480 resolution) display.
